This via ferrata is never particularly demanding and requires only a modest level of physical effort, making it well suited to beginners. It is secured throughout by a metal cable that runs alongside the path for the entire length of the route.
From the centre of Arco, a short walk through a picturesque woodland takes you to the start of the via ferrata at the foot of Monte Colodri. The route follows easy rocky terrain, alternating between horizontal sections along an exposed path, short climbing sections and ladders that help you negotiate small vertical sections. The via ferrata takes us to the summit of the mountain, near the cross, which offers a 360° view of the Sarca Valley and the surrounding mountains, stretching as far as Lake Garda.
The return journey follows an easy path on the opposite side of the mountain, heading north at first and crossing the path coming from Mount Colt, then descending westwards, passing close to the Muro dell’Asino crag, until you reach the houses of Laghel. From here, follow the road through a beautiful olive grove to Arco, passing by the slopes of the castle and then into the historic part of the town.
