It is very exposed and requires a good level of arm strength, as well as a head for heights. The route is generally challenging for experienced hikers.
From Andalo, you can take the ski lifts to the summit of Paganella. A short descent, clearly signposted by S.A.T. signs, leads to the start of the via ferrata. A series of traverses and metal ladders – sometimes descending, sometimes ascending – takes you across the entire east face.
A fascinating, airy Tibetan bridge connects two peaks and allows you to experience the sensation of ‘emptiness beneath your feet’. The via ferrata is never straightforward, but it is nevertheless very well secured and equipped.
