Practical and theoretical training: The course comprises a combination of practical fieldwork and some theoretical input, which will enable you to learn the techniques of ski mountaineering and the fundamentals of snow science and risk management required to plan a ski mountaineering trip independently.
Self-rescue techniques: You will learn how to use an avalanche transceiver (ARTVA), a shovel and a probe, as well as how to deal with a potential avalanche situation. Our guides will teach you how to observe and recognise the signs the mountain gives, an essential skill for practising ski mountaineering safely.
Ascents and descents in the high mountains: Every day of the course includes practical ascents and descents on varied terrain, ranging from wide, gentle slopes to more challenging sections. The routes are designed to offer a natural progression, adapting to your level and enabling you to improve continuously.
Overnight stay in a mountain hut: You’ll be staying in an alpine hut where you can share experiences with the other participants, sample traditional mountain dishes and enjoy the beauty of the views that only the mountains can offer. The welcoming atmosphere and the company of others who share your passion will make the experience even more special.
Ongoing support: A certified mountain guide will accompany you throughout the course, offering technical support and advice, and answering all your questions, to ensure you learn as effectively as possible.
