Tignale

The Lake Garda canyon is the perfect place to start and end the season, with its sun-drenched cliffs and crystal-clear water.

An experience suitable for those in good physical shape, with jumps always optional. What makes Tignale unique is its light: unlike the other canyons in the area, it alternates between open, sunny stretches and large natural pools carved into the rock, offering a more relaxed adventure without sacrificing the adrenaline rush.

Once we reach the hamlet of Piovere, above Lake Garda, we take our time getting ready for the adventure that lies ahead. A pleasant path surrounded by greenery leads us to the entrance to the canyon, where the sound of the water gives us a foretaste of what lies in store.

The adventure begins with a series of abseils alternating with slides down smooth rock, leading up to a long slide that sends us plunging into a large natural pool. After negotiating an exposed traverse, we tackle the most spectacular abseil of the route: 45 metres into the void, bringing the first section to a close. The lower section offers a more relaxed pace, with two steep slides plunging into idyllic pools, perfect for a final swim before leaving the canyon.
